The Role of Technology
1. In "Valley of the Gadgets" (pages 69-70), Steven Levy describes the new products being promoted at the Consumer Electronics Show. Which were most interesting to you? How many types of technology do you use in a day? What would your day be like without them? Share your entries.
2. Anna Quindlen's column, "Write For Your Life" (page 74) refers to the ways that technology has both revived and changed the purpose for writing. According to Quindlen, how has e-mail revived writing? How has it also changed the form of our writing? Why does she think that "talking to yourself" is a necessary part of life? Write a few paragraphs reacting to this idea.

1. Nowadays, inventors invented plenty of products which make people daily life easier. In technology, they've been improving day by day. Computers,robots,TV and so on are some electronics have invented to use in these decades. iPhpne, big screen TV,and laptops are the most interesting to me. As technology improved I couldn't count how many types I use in my day because we live with now. Wherever you look, walk, sit you'll see it in front of you. Why we don't imagine our lives without the technology? Look back to the life like at least 50 years ago,did they have what we've? NO.
BUT their lives were simple and they survived without.
2. Those days some writers prefer to type in the computers instead of holding a pen and start writing. Technology improvement is what we got from inventors which encourage people to use the new style rather than old one.
When normal people write, they write about things happened in the past or story about a person, but those teens wrote about themselves,their daily life,and how people disrespect them even they are at the same age and school.
No one could live alone. You might need who you wanna talk to. But sometime the person prefer to speak to himself if he could find any to trust or respect what he's gonna say to. So she thought that talking to yourself is necessary and I agree with what she said.
The most interesting thing for me was this huge TV which is 108-inch LCD. I do use many types of technology, it's almost more than 5 types a day.I think my life will be so boring without these technology because I really used to use them every single day.

Actually, the technology is what revived the writing, not the E-mails exactly. Because now days, few writers who still write on a paper, so E-mails revived the writing and makes the people keep writing."talking to your self",she thinks that it's necessary because that what makes the real writing which is not only legacy but therapy.
