US and Iran have cooperated when the FBI announced that Al Qaeda was behind the attacks in 20 Sept. So two of the American and the Iranian officials that day have met to discuss about how to make things better.
The fear dissolved after Sept. 2o, when the FBI stated the Al Qaeda was behind the attacks. American and Iranian officials met in Geneva in the day before the Oct. 7 U.S. attacks. Tehran had been helping Afghan for years against Taliban and the U.S. troops in Afghanistan gave an opportunity for cooperation.
